Environmental Engineer Intern (m/f/x)

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As Environmental Engineer Intern, you will support the chief sustainability officer (CSO) in various tasks related to sustainability strategy design and impact measurement. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
(1) Support in the design of the ESG policy:
Goal: Assist in the building of the ESG policy and related guidelines.
a. Contribute to the desk research to summarize sustainability norms, best practices and requirements.
b. Assist in the preparation of documentation for the policy, related guidelines and metric templates.
c. Assist to setting up the impact metric system and perform impact measurements and reporting.
d. Collect all information and reports on the development of the sustainability strategy and metric and register all data into internal reports and tracking systems.
(2) Support in performing internal footprint measurement:
Goal: assist Resortecs’ team to reduce internal impact by first measuring the operational environmental footprint and set adequate reduction targets.
a. Assist in setting templates and methodology to collect data to measure the internal footprint, set reduction targets, and document progress.
b. Assist in setting up the internal footprint metric system via data collection templates and perform measurements and reporting.
c. Assist in monitoring measurements, updating guidelines, and best practices based on best-in-class approaches in comparison to the market.
(3) Conduct LCA:
Goal: conduct life cycle assessment studies on Resortecs solution and client case studies.
a. Data collection on production, transport, disassembly, and recycling to build exhaustive data inventory.
b. Build LCA in software and perform system reviews.
c. Assist in data interpretation and writing up LCA reports.
YOUR PROFILE
• You are a MSc student in environmental engineering; Technology, Policy and Management; or equivalent.
• You are interested in impact measurement and theory of change.
• You have experience with (or are motivated to learn about): ESG, B-corp certification, and impact measurements and environmental management systems.
• You have experience with LCA (software).
• You are hands-on and perseverant in nature, result oriented and have a pragmatic mindset.
• You are meticulous and have an interest in setting up processes.
• You are confident and independent fast learner, can work under pressure and tackle challenges on your own.
• You are a team player with curiosity for circularity innovations.
• You have very good communication skills in English, French is a plus.
• You have strong PC/Mac literacy.
• You want to have a positive impact on society and nature.
