R&D Engineering Intern (m/f/x)

Resortecs is an award-winning start-up that develops technology to empower smart textile disassembly, sorting, and recycling – driving full circularity and sustainability in the fashion industry without creative nor quality trade-off.

Your responsabilities
As a R&D Engineering Intern, you will join and support the R&D team in developing and validating Resortecs’ assembly products (i.e. Smart Stitch™). Additionally, you will learn about our Smart Disassembly™ batch system to understand and enhance the disassembly process.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:
(1) Testing of Resortecs’ assembly products:
a. Characterize existing Resortecs’ Smart Stitch™ and new prototypes.
b. Perform in-house and outsourced tests to assess and understand the properties of Resortecs’ Smart Stitch™ and validate new prototypes.
c. Analyse textile fabrics from customers and conduct desk research to anticipate potential challenges of Resortecs’ technology and organize relevant tests.
(2) R&D development for assembly solutions:
a. Collaborate in the development of new products (threads, rivets,…).
b. Gather technical requirements from customers, explore the market landscape, and support feasibility studies including timelines and resource planning.
(3) Support in Smart Disassembly™ trials:
a. Participate in R&D projects of the disassembly process.
b. Conduct thermal disassembly trials with customers and partners samples using Resortecs’ disassembly system.
c. Assist in maintaining and improving the disassembly system, and contribute ideas for its technical development.
(4) Know-how development and documentation:
a. Compile test results and document key technical learnings in internal reports.
b. Update and improve test protocols to standardize best practices and drive continuous improvement.
Your profile
• You are an Engineering student with specialization in textile engineering, material science or equivalent.
• Knowledge and/or interest in textiles or polymer materials is important.
• You are hands-on and perseverant in nature, result-oriented and have a pragmatic mindset.
• You are meticulous and have an interest in experiments and testing.
• You are a confident and independent fast learner, you can tackle challenges on your own.
• You have very good communication skills in English, French is a plus.
• You have strong PC/Mac literacy.
• You want to have a positive impact on society and nature.
