Your responsibilities

As a R&D Engineering Intern, you will join the R&D team and support them in developing and validating Resortecs’ assembly products (i.e. Smart StitchTM). Additionally, you will learn about our Smart DisassemblyTM Batch System to understand and enhance the disassembly process.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:

(1) Testing of Resortecs’ assembly products.
a. Characterize existing Resortecs’ threads and new prototypes.
b. Assess and understand the properties of Resortecs’ threads and validate new prototypes by performing in-house and outsourced tests.
c. Analyse textile fabrics from brands and carry out desk research to anticipate potential challenges of Resortecs’ technology and organize relevant tests.

(2) R&D developments for Assembly.
a. Assist and collaborate in the development of new products (threads, rivets,…).
b. Identify the needs and requirements of our clients, assess the existing market, evaluate the economic feasibility, and plan the timeline and required resources.

(3) Support in performing disassembly trials with Resortecs Smart DisassemblyTM batch system:
a. Assist in R&D projects of the Disassembly process.
b. Perform thermal disassembly trials of the prototypes through Resortecs’ customers/partners using mainly the Resortecs textile disassembly oven.
c. Assist in the maintenance tasks of the Resortecs disassembly system, and brainstorm together with the team on its potential improvements.

(4) Know-how safeguarding:
Goal: compile all learnings on the Resortecs process (assembly and disassembly) and document all the conclusions obtained through our desk research.
a. Compile all test results and develop in an extensive internal report on all the technical learning.
b. When relevant, update and improve test protocols to standardize the optimisations found.

Your profile

• You are an Engineering student with specialization in textile engineering, material science or equivalent.

• Knowledge and/or interest in textiles or polymer materials is important.

• You are hands-on and perseverant in nature, result-oriented and have a pragmatic mindset.

• You are meticulous and have an interest in experiments and testing.

• You are a confident and independent fast learner, you can tackle challenges on your own.

• You have very good communication skills in English; French is a plus.

• You have strong PC/Mac literacy.

• You want to have a positive impact on society and nature.
